
Chef Joel was born and raised in Wisconsin and relocated to San Francisco in 1985. He attended the acclaimed California Culinary Academy where he graduated at the top of his class and later returned as a Chef/Instructor in Classical French Quisine. During his career he has held the following positions: Executive Chef, The Mansions Hotel, San Francisco, CA; Executive Chef, The Penny Farthing Restaurant, San Francisco, CA; Chef du Banquet, Auberge De Soliel, Rutherford, Napa, CA; Chef du Banquet, Claremont Hotel, Oakland CA. He also founded Culinary Excellence Catering, Concord, CA and was the preferred cater at the Brazilian Room in Tilden Park, Berkeley, CA. Over the years Chef Joel has additionally gained incredible experiences catering to the Film Industry during Location Shoots and working as a "Hired Gun Chef" for fellow caterers at "off premise" events and functions.
